Continuation of the A1 Phase 1 project to Torun and it is part of European Road E 75 which provides access to Southern Europe. The A1 motorway will cross the A2 and A4 motorways in Poland. It is therefore part of Poland’s international route connection. Financial close was achieved in July 2009. Construction is expected to be complete by December 2011.

Project consists of 62 km of tolled A2 Motorway south between Nowe Marzy and Torun. There are 51 bridge structures including 2 river bridges of 500 m and 1000 m.

Intertoll Polska Sp. z o.o. (100% Intertoll Europe ZRt. affiliate) is in charge of the operation and maintenance of the motorway as well as the manual toll collection (a closed system, consists of 1 mainline toll plaza and 5 ramp toll plazas.

Total number of toll lanes: 39 (16 entry and 23 exit lanes).

Other roles of Intertoll in this project:

  • Intertoll Capital Partners (ICP an Aberdeen – Intertoll JV) is a 15% shareholder in the Concession Company (GTC-Gdansk Transport Company);
  • Intertoll Construction Sp. z o.o. (100% Intertoll Europe ZRt. affiliate) is in charge of the design, supply and commissioning of the toll collection and motorway management equipment.
